Gold Negative YTD In Dollars But Bull Market Not Over – Morgan Stanley

Gold’s London AM fix this morning was USD 1,563.00, EUR 1,213.79 and GBP 972.62 per ounce.

Friday’s AM fix was USD 1,580.75, EUR 1,221.69 and GBP 980.98 per ounce.

Gold fell $12.70 to close at $1,581/oz in New York on Friday. Gold has fallen again today and has now erased the gains for the year. Gold edged up in early Asian trading as bargain hunters lifted prices from four month lows, but gains were capped and prices gradually fell and falls continued in European trading.

Gold rose $3.00 or 0.18% in New York yesterday and closed at $1,594.00/oz. Gold ticked lower in Asia and in Europe and breached yesterday’s intraday low of $1,580/oz.

Gold’s London AM fix this morning was USD 1,652.50, EUR 1,257.71, and GBP 1,020.44 per ounce.

Yesterday’s AM fix was USD 1,661.25, EUR 1,253.02 and GBP 1,024.70 per ounce.

Gold fell $4.40 or 0.26% in New York yesterday and closed at $1,661.70/oz. Gold rose to over $1,670/oz in early US trading prior to selling capped price gains and the price then fell back to the $1,660/oz level.

Gold’s London AM fix this morning was USD 1,660.75, EUR 1,245.31, and GBP 1,038.68 per ounce.

Yesterday’s AM fix was USD 1,655.75, EUR 1,245.86 and GBP 1,041.22 per ounce.

Gold fell $3.00/oz or 0.18% in New York yesterday and closed at $1,660.10/oz. Gold traded sideways in Asia prior to seeing a slight climb to $1,665.55/oz in late Asian trading and is now trading in Europe near $1,662.65/oz.

Gold’s London AM fix this morning was USD 1,658.00, EUR 1,255.02, and GBP 1,047.91 per ounce.

Friday’s AM fix was USD 1,651.00, EUR 1,246.04 and GBP 1,040.85 per ounce.

Gold rose 1.23% in New York on Friday and closed at $1,666.22/oz. Gold rose sharply at the open in Asia before determined selling at the $1,670/oz level saw gold fall. Weakness continued at the open in Europe which has gold now trading at $ 1,657.80/oz.

Gold fell 1.7% in New York yesterday and closed at $1,676.10/oz. Gold fell in Asia prior to further falls in Europe which has gold now trading at $1,656/oz.
